Restoring Power

Severe storms can cause a large number of customers to lose their electricity at the same time. We follow a specific plan to restore electric service – starting with safety.

Priority is given to facilities that are essential to the health and welfare of the community such as hospitals, police and fire departments. Next, we do whatever it takes to bring the most people's power back the fastest.

The question remains – “When is the power going to be back on?” Though we do our best to provide an answer, weather conditions, accessibility to damaged areas, time of day and environmental issues are among many factors that complicate our ability to predict restoration times.

Rest assured that we’re working hard to have you back on track just as soon as possible.

What to do after the storm

Recovering from a disaster is usually a gradual process. Safety is a primary issue, as are mental and physical well-being. If assistance is available, knowing how to access it makes the process faster and less stressful. Learn more here.
