Heat Pumps
A unique, energy saving system for home heating, the Heat Pump does not create heat so much as it creates benefits. Heat Pumps “capture” and use existing heat, enabling the system to deliver two or more units of heat for each unit of energy needed to operate it. All this translates to immediate savings!
The net result of this environmentally sound choice is a system that operates 30 to 60 percent more efficiently than your standard HVAC units.
How Does It Work?
The Heat Pump is remarkably adaptable. In summer, it operates as a conventional air conditioner to cool your home. In winter, the system is reversed and the Heat Pump actually gathers heat alredy outside and “pumps” it indoors to your home.
To make this happen, Heat Pumps consist of two units (outdoor and indoor) along with a wall thermostat that automatically controls the air temperature in your home. The outdoor unit contains the compressor, outdoor coil, and fan – just like your existing central air conditioner. The indoor unit resembles a warm air furnace and contains a coil, blower, supplemental heaters and air filter.
