- Call 48 hours in advance if at all possible.
- Respect the marks (1½ ft on either side of the spot)
- Dig with care. Most underground conductors are to be 40 inches below grade, but since construction, erosion, and landscaping can cause the depth to change, use a hand shovel until you identify the conductor. There should be a red barrier tape with black letters installed in the sand backfill about 6-8 inches above the conductor.
