KLAHOMA CITY — OGE Energy Corp. Foundation, Inc. awarded Abagale “Abbey” Sieg, a senior at Mount St. Mary Catholic High School, a $60,000 OG&E Positive Energy Scholarship, recognizing her remarkable resilience, academic achievement, and leadership in robotics and community service.
Representatives from Oklahoma Gas & Electric Co. (OG&E), and school officials surprised her during at Mount St. Mary’s senior banquet, where they announced her selection as a 2025 OG&E Positive Energy Scholar. The scholarship will cover tuition, books, fees, and on-campus room and board for four years as Abbey pursues a degree in computer science and robotics engineering.
“Congratulations to Abbey, one of our 2025 OG&E Positive Energy Scholars,” said Sean Trauschke, OGE Energy Corp. Chairman, President and CEO. “Abbey brings curiosity, discipline, and compassion to everything she does. We’re proud to support her as she creates a future that makes a better life for others.”
Abbey first discovered her love of learning through music, studying piano for more than a decade. When her longtime piano teacher quit during her freshman year, Abbey wrote in her application essay she lost a mentor and part of her identity. Instead of giving up, she redirected her passion into robotics—and found a new home at the Science Museum of Oklahoma, where she joined a FIRST Robotics Competition team.
She quickly became a leader. As programming lead, Abbey guided her team to the Einstein Field at the FIRST Robotics World Championship, one of the top achievements in the global competition. She also embraced her role as a mentor, helping younger team members develop technical skills and confidence.
“Switching from piano keys to computer keys was difficult at first,” Abbey said. “But I found purpose again. Robotics gave me a team, a goal, and a future. This scholarship gives me the opportunity to take that even further.”
In addition to robotics, Abbey plays a critical role on her school’s speech and debate team, where she has earned praise for her leadership, ethics, and willingness to mentor others. She also holds a part-time job and participates in fine arts and STEM activities—all while maintaining a top GPA.
Abbey plans to earn her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, then continue on to a Ph.D. in robotics engineering. She hopes to work on advanced technology projects that improve people’s lives
