Nearly two weeks after deploying crews to Georgia to help with power restoration following Hurricane Helene, the crews are headed back, and a new crew is being sent to Florida in anticipation of Hurricane Milton's destruction. The hurricane is expected to make landfall late Wednesday, crews will wait out the storm in South Carolina and wait for instruction from Florida Power & Light.

OG&E crews worked 16-hour shifts to restore power to Georgia Power customers while navigating extensive tree damage, persisting flooding conditions and road closures.

"I had the privilege of personally visiting OG&E crews and witnessing their unwavering commitment to restoring normalcy for those affected by Hurricane Helene. Your dedication in traveling to Georgia and sacrificing time with your own families to assist those in dire need exemplifies the spirit of our industry. OG&E is a great example of the positive impact that mutual assistance efforts have on the utility sector. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to service," said Scott Moore, Senior VP of Alabama Power Company Power Delivery.
