OG&E celebrated the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a Week of Service from January 20-24. Employees engaged with their communities by reading to first-grade classrooms across the OG&E service area.
Sarah Stafford, OG&E’s Controller and Chief Accounting Officer, kicked off the initiative at Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School in Oklahoma City, as OG&E employees visited 38 elementary schools, reading the book "Be a King" and donating copies to each classroom.
OG&E employees, led by their internal Black TOGETHERâ„¢ member resource group, will participate in the annual Oklahoma City MLK Day Parade on Feb. 1 by holding signs, passing out candy, and assisting with setting up barricades and directing participants and attendees.
Public service remains a core value at OG&E, with employees volunteering over 16,000 hours across Oklahoma and western Arkansas in 2024.
