OG&E employees partnered with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation and the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Foundation and teamed up with University of Oklahoma football players Eddy Pierre-Louis and Sammy Omosigho to teach kids the basics of fishing and the importance of protecting natural resources.
“Every day we make sure our power plants are providing reliable electric service to homes and businesses, and hosting fishing clinics at the power plant is another great way to serve our communities,” said Shawn Gribble, director of OG&E’s Horseshoe Lake Power Plant.
The children cast lines, caught fish, and took home their own fishing poles—along with big smiles and unforgettable memories.
“The OU players added a magical touch that made the day even more special,” said Russell Babb Elementary Principal Mike McAfee. “The OU football players added a magical touch that made the day even more special for our kids.
