Byng High School senior Callen Leslie received a life-changing surprise when he was named one of OG&E’s 2025 Positive Energy Scholars during a celebration at his school. 

The $60,000 scholarship, funded by the OGE Energy Corp. Foundation, will help Callen pursue a degree in electrical engineering at Oklahoma State University.

“Congratulations to Callen, one of three 2025 OG&E Positive Energy Scholars,” said Sean Trauschke, OGE Energy Corp. chairman, president and CEO. “Callen is a curious, driven student with a passion for problem-solving. We are honored to support him as he pursues his dreams and prepares to energize our future workforce.”

Callen’s passion for technology began at age 13 and has grown into a dream of designing life-saving medical devices. Since 2019, OG&E has awarded over $1 million through this program, investing in students who will help power our future.

“I want to continue to innovate and create things that matter,” Callen said. “There’s been so many prayers about my financial future…and I feel like this is a good answer. I’m so thankful to OG&E for this scholarship.” 

Since launching the Positive Energy Scholarship program in 2019, the Foundation has awarded more than $1 million to students like Callen across our service area. Since 2012, OG&E and the OGE Energy Corp. Foundation have provided more than $2 million in scholarships to more than 300 students.
