Powering Our Communities
OG&E has an extensive network of transmission and distribution lines to deliver a balanced portfolio of energy to customers via our three wind farms, five solar farms and nine natural gas and coal power plants.
Transmission & Distribution

OG&E owns and operates overhead and underground power lines to deliver electricity to our customers in Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas.

Transmission Lines

The grid that electrifies our cities and industries is made up of high-voltage transmission lines. As demand increases, utilities build additional transmission lines to ensure that electricity is always available from a variety of energy sources.

Power Lines

To safely deliver electricity, OG&E operates a series of handoffs between higher voltage transmission lines to lower voltage distribution lines located on overhead poles and buried underground.

A Network of Power Lines

Many think of the power grid as similar to the national roads and highway system.

Miles To Go

Power generation is often located away from metropolitan areas. Moving electricity to where it's needed requires miles and miles of lines, hundreds of thousands of poles, and a significant amount of additional equipment and resources.

FERC Compliance

OG&E complies with all Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) rules for the operation of transmission lines.
