Economic Development

Economic Development

Growing our communities is the main focus of our economic development efforts, and low utility rates are a key driver for businesses that are seeking to relocate to a certain area.

Primarily serving as a third-party facilitator and resource, our economic development team provides technical support to companies interested in expanding or relocating in our service territory. The economic benefits of low cost, reliable electricity and the opportunities to purchase renewable energy credits give companies and site selection professionals incentives to relocate.

Our economic development staff and community affairs managers also work to assist the local communities in our service areas of Oklahoma and western Arkansas with efforts to help them achieve healthy business growth in the future. We provide our communities with the tools necessary to move forward with economic development and inform them of the processes involved in retaining existing business and recruiting new business.

Some of the companies we’ve helped recruit to our service area include:

  • Gladfelter in Fort Smith, Ark.
  • CMC in Durant, Okla.
  • Siemens in Woodward, Okla.
