Mission

The OGE Energy Corp. Foundation Inc. provides grants to 501(c)(3) charities to support programs, organizations and institutions that enhance quality of life and economic well-being in the communities where OGE operates. 

Investment Priorities

The OGE Energy Corp. Foundation Inc. will consider each request that contributes to achieving the foundation’s mission. While the foundation will consider supporting organizations in a variety of areas, such as human services, the arts and community development, a greater emphasis will be placed on early education – primarily math and science.

Funding Guidelines

The OGE Energy Corp. Foundation Inc. is subject to Internal Revenue Service rules and regulations governing private and charitable foundations.

To qualify for grant funding consideration, your organization must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a U.S.-based IRS 501(c)(3) qualified charitable or educational organization or an accredited K-12 educational institution
  • Be geographically located where OGE operates
  • Serve communities without discrimination against any individual on the basis of race, creed, gender, age, sexual orientation or national origin
  • Have a method by which to measure, track, and report program outcomes and specific results that demonstrate measurable community impact

Ineligible Programs and Projects

The OGE Energy Corp. Foundation Inc. generally does not fund grants for programs and projects associated with, but not limited to, the following:

  • An individual person or families
  • Building or Capital investments and improvements
  • Dinners, luncheons or other forms of indirect support
  • Organizations that are not 501(c)(3) organizations
  • Organizations that are not geographically located in an area where OGE operates
  • Political parties or candidates
  • Religious activities, in whole or in part, for the purpose of furthering religious doctrine. The Foundation will consider funding faith-based organizations which provide services to all clients regardless of denomination
  • Sports teams/events such as tournaments (other than Special Olympics)

Restrictions

OGE Energy Corp. Foundation Inc. grant support is not available for:

  • Organizations offering goods or services to employees as a benefit of grant approval (e.g., participation in golf tournaments, reservations at fundraising dinners, tickets to special events, etc.)

Submitting Requests:

Applications are accepted year-round; however, funding decisions are made three times a year.  Applications are evaluated during quarterly committee meetings based on the following dates::

Oct. 1 - Jan. 31 (Committee Meeting in March) 

Feb. 1 - May 31 (Committee Meeting in July) 

June 1 - Sept. 31 (Committee Meeting in November)

Positive Energy Scholarships

At OG&E, we are committed to providing life-sustaining and life-enhancing products to people in our communities. Our scholarships are just one way to instill life into future generations through our commitment in investing in their education. The goal of our scholarships is to attract, recruit and retain a diverse workforce in Oklahoma and Arkansas and continue to build a pipeline of future OG&E workers as well as energy industry and manufacturing plant workers as well. OGE Positive Energy Scholarship Application— Administered through the Oklahoma City Community Foundation, this scholarship awards $15,000/year up to 4 years for high school students seeking a degree in higher education.

OGE Energy Scholarship—Administered through OSU OKC, this scholarship is awards up to $5,000 to incoming students obtaining degrees in either Power Transmission and Distribution Technology or Electronics Engineering Technology.
