Saving money and taking control of your bill is easy with SmartHours. Switch to the program, shift your usage outside of peak hours (2-7 p.m., M-F) when you can and see savings! It’s that simple. How does it work?

It costs more to generate electricity during peak periods, 2-7 p.m., M-F. So, by shifting some of your usage outside of the peak hours, you can cut your energy costs significantly. But even if you don’t shift much, you’re still saving money by being on the program. As a SmartHours customer, you’ll receive day-ahead price notifications daily via your choice of email, phone or text. Many customers make small changes to save:

  • Charge forklifts or stock refrigerators during off-peak hours.
  • Turn off lights or computers when not in use.
  • Turn on fans before touching the thermostat, and stay comfortable longer.
  • Pre-cool your business before 2 p.m., then turn up the thermostat a bit after 2 p.m.
You have 100% control

You control your thermostat. You decide all your electricity use. So, take complete control of your comfort and savings—save as much or as little as you want. The more you shift usage outside of peak hours, the more you save.

On occasion, high energy demand may cause a critical event. While these events are rare, they can occur any time of day, any time of year and can last up to eight hours. OG&E sends critical event notices at least two hours ahead, so you can prepare. The savings still add up with hour after hour of low-price, off-peak electricity.

Take Your SmartHours Savings to the Next Level

We’ve teamed up with If This, Then That (IFTTT) to offer technology that enables your smart thermostat to react to daily price signals. Connect your thermostat to IFTTT, and then set your thermostat to react to low, standard, high and critical rates communicated daily by OG&E.
