Energizing Future Generations

We provide resources to teachers within our service area by offering classroom financial support and we give our time visiting classrooms to teach students about electrical safety.

Supporting Teachers and Students
We're devoted to supporting a bright future for our communities and energizing future generations through investments. Through our partnerships and the OGE Energy Corp. Foundation, we're able to offer scholarships, classroom projects, student safety programs, and teacher support resources to teachers and students in our service area.

Safety & Energy Efficiency Education

We provide teachers and school leaders energy education materials that are aligned with core academic standards, such as English Language Arts (ELA) standards, as well as science and health standards. In addition to providing academic content, these materials also convey important safety awareness messaging that shows students and families how to recognize, avoid and safely respond to utility-related incidents.

Providing Opportunity
Positive Energy Scholars
Since launching the program in 2018, we’ve awarded 15 scholarships – totaling $900,000 – to high school seniors who commit to attending college in Oklahoma or Arkansas. We annually award three $60,000 scholarships. Recipients are often first-generation college students, and the scholarship relieves a significant financial burden for families for whom college might otherwise be unattainable. The OG&E Positive Energy Scholarship application will be open from December 1, 2023 to February 15, 2024.
OGE Energy Scholars
We've awarded 121 scholarships - totaling $501,403 - to college students enrolled in the Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, High Voltage Lineman, Power Plan Technology, Engineering Technologies - Electrical/Electronic Technology or Engineering Technologies - Instrumentation Technology programs of study at OSU Stillwater, OSU-OKC or OSU IT.
Energy Efficiency Grants
OGE Energy partners with local public-school teachers through Positive Energy Teacher Grants and Energy Efficiency Grants offered through DonorsChoose. These grants support more than 300 projects and approximately 30,000 student learning experiences.
Supporting Teachers

Through our Positive Energy Teacher Grants, we provide dollar-for-dollar donations for teachers seeking funds for classroom projects, books, educational kits, games and lab equipment to support Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering and Math (STEM) education in our service area. We offer matching funds to public schools where a majority of students come from low-income households.

Energy Efficiency Grants

Our goal of promoting energy efficiency means we’re focused on supporting teacher projects that give public school students a deeper understanding of energy conservation. Our Energy Efficiency Teacher Grants fund classroom projects in public schools within our Oklahoma service area through DonorsChoose.

Scholarship and Workforce Development

We’ve led the way to educate high school, technical school and higher education students about careers in energy in Oklahoma.

Our scholarship opportunities help us attract, recruit and retain a diverse workforce throughout Oklahoma and Arkansas. At the same time, they allow us to build a pipeline of future OG&E workers while promoting growth in the energy and manufacturing industries. Bilingual and Diversity Teacher Pipeline Program
We energize the lives of Oklahoma City Public School employees by funding the OKCPS Foundation’s Bilingual and Diversity Teacher Pipeline Program. This initiative gives OKCPS paraprofessionals the chance to finish college and earn their teaching certificate—with no debt—while staying employed full time. The program is creating more diverse and inclusive classrooms by providing opportunities for teachers from underrepresented communities.
